In order to run a hybrid meeting in accordance with our constitution, and to ensure the integrity of the meeting, it is necessary for us to follow a number of pre-registration steps. Please read the below carefully.
- Zoom link will be sent by November 26 – This link is for you only and cannot be used by other members, so please do not forward it.
- Test ballot from Simply Voting – You will receive a test ballot on November 26. Please cast your test ballot as soon as possible.
- Join the Zoom link between 8:45am and 9:15am.
Joining early allows us to ensure all participants are properly registered and admitted to the meeting on time and prevents a delay in admitting you to the meeting. Once you are admitted, feel free to mute yourself and turn your camera off until the meeting begins at 9:30am.
If attending in-person:
- Hotel booking – deadline October26 (see below for information)
- Test ballot from Simply Voting – You will receive a test ballot on November 26. Please cast your test ballot as soon as possible.
- Sign in at the meeting on both days to ensure you can vote and claim any eligible expenses.

Hotel Booking information
Please use this link to book your room with the OPSSU group rate. OPSSU Hotel Guest Room Booking and book your room by October 26.
Members joining in-person are required to make their own hotel arrangements through the link above. All rooms will be billed to OPSSU upon checkout. If you need to cancel your reservation it will be your responsibility to do so. Members will assume all costs for late cancelations and no-shows. Please only use the link to book your hotel room. A hotel room booked through any other means will not be reimbursed. The reason for this is because we have contracted a certain number of rooms and are obligated to pay for them.
The cut-off date for Hotel bookings is Sunday, October 26. The Hotel cannot guarantee availability of rooms if you book late – please adhere to the timelines. OPSSU will only reimburse room expenses at the negotiated rate of $194.00 plus destination fee for a total of $204.00.
Room bookings for eligible members are for Friday and Saturday night only (if attending both days of the General Membership Meeting). If you require a travel accommodation which requires additional nights stays, you MUST have prior approval by emailing secretary@opssu.ca before booking your room.
Be sure to ONLY select the exact date(s) Friday, November 28 and/or Saturday, November29 ONLY when booking your room.
You must live more than 40 km away from the hotel and attend the meeting in-person to be eligible for a hotel room. Members within 40 km wishing to attend the Hospitality Suite on Friday or Holiday event on Saturday evening will be allowed to claim taxifare.
